How to Multistream Your Shopify Live Show to Facebook and YouTube

Reach your followers on Facebook and YouTube while selling on your own Shopify store. How multistreaming works, how to set it up with OBS, and tips for each platform.

Your followers are on Facebook and YouTube; your checkout is on Shopify. Multistreaming lets you broadcast one show to all of them at once — and send viewers back to your store to buy.

What multistreaming is

Multistreaming (also called simulcasting or restreaming) means sending a single live video to several destinations at the same time. You stream once to your live shopping platform, and it forwards the stream to Facebook, YouTube or any service that accepts RTMP.

Why stream on your store first

  • Your checkout, your data. Viewers on your store buy through your Shopify checkout and you see exactly what each show sold.
  • No marketplace fees and no algorithm deciding who sees your show.
  • Social reach. Facebook and YouTube bring in followers who might not visit your store otherwise. Mention your store link often during the show.

What you need

  • OBS Studio (free) or another RTMP streaming tool. Multistreaming works with RTMP shows — streams sent from a phone browser use WebRTC, which can't be restreamed.
  • A live shopping plan that includes multistreaming (LiveShoply Growth or Pro).
  • Stream keys from each platform you want to reach.

Set up multistreaming with LiveShoply

  1. Get your stream keys. In Facebook Live Producer, choose "Streaming software" and turn on "Use a persistent stream key" so the key doesn't change between shows. In YouTube Studio, go to Go live → Stream and copy the stream URL and key.
  2. Add destinations. In LiveShoply, open Settings → Multistreaming, choose the platform, and paste the server URL and stream key.
  3. Create an OBS show. When scheduling a show, choose "OBS / RTMP" as the streaming method.
  4. Connect OBS. On the show page, click "Get stream key & studio". In OBS go to Settings → Stream, choose Custom, and paste the server URL and stream key.
  5. Go live. Start streaming in OBS, then press Start show. Your show plays on your store and is forwarded to every destination. Changes to destinations apply instantly, even mid-show.
Tip: do a two-minute private test the day before. Set the YouTube stream to "Unlisted" and the Facebook post to "Only me" while testing.

Platform tips

  • Facebook: use a persistent stream key, and write a clear post title with the store link in the description.
  • YouTube: the default stream key is reusable. Add your store link to the stream description and pin it in the live chat.
  • Instagram and TikTok: RTMP access is limited to certain accounts and their keys usually change every broadcast. Check your account's live tools before relying on them.

Troubleshooting

  • Destination not showing the stream: check the stream key is current (Facebook keys change unless set to persistent) and that the platform's live page is ready to receive.
  • Choppy video: lower the OBS bitrate to around 2,500–4,000 kbps and check your upload speed.
  • Chat in several places: keep your store chat as the main conversation and invite social viewers to join you there to shop.
